Frequenty asked questions (FAQ)
playing the game
Q: What are the differences in specialty?
A: After joining, you can choose to either beocme a war, peace, or trickster horse. War horses are expected to fight on behalf of their nation. Peace horses are involved in both healing, and diplomacy. Trickster horses create and block steals.
Q: Can you change your specialty?
A: If a character changes specialty (stealing to fighting or visa versa), they will start over at rank 1.
Q: Can our characters have powers?
A: This one is tricky - you can roleplay with powers in your respective kingdoms, but must follow these guidelines: powers CANNOT be used in battles or stealing, you cannot use powers to read minds, communicate with the other side, etc.
Q: How is activity tracked?
A: Every two weeks, activity counts are reset. The most active side will win. When that happens, any character on the winning side that has posted at least 5 unique posts (not including reposts) will receive one crystal.
positions
Q: How do you get promoted?
A: Characters are evaluated twiceper month and are eligible at that point for promotion. Judgments will be conducted every other Sunday by the King or Queen and will need final acceptance by Chaos. Promotions are granted on a case-by-case basis and do not have a standard set of criteria. Chaos will sometimes play favorites, but not by PLAYER. All playing favorites is done CHARACTER by character.
Q: Can you be demoted?
A: A character can be demoted if they do not uphold their duties, or go inactive without explanation.
Q: Who performs the judgments?
A: Kings and Queens will perform the judgement on alternating weeks, or together(king first, then queen, etc). Chaos has the ability to overturn their decision if she desires.
Q: What are the basic prerequisites to be promoted?
A: To move up the ranks, you must show excellence in your current level, and a willingness to take on the responsibility of your new rank.
kings and queens
Q: Who picks the kings and queens?
A: The first King and Queen will be designated by Chaos. Subsequent Kings/Queens will be determined by the current King/Queen or by Chaos. Designations of king/queen must be role played. Once designated, a nation can rebel if they wish, and may try to give the crown to a new ruler. However, Chaos will have the final say.
Q: What kind of special powers do the King/Queen have?
A: The king and queen of each land control the bank of crystals, which they may use to benefit their nations.
Q: Are the kings/queens ranked above Chaos?
A: Kings and Queens are the leaders of their side. However, they still answer to Chaos, and they can be dethroned (ie, don't get too comfortable... if you abuse the power, you will be ousted).
Q: Can kings/queens be demoted?
A: Kings and Queens can be demoted by 1) Chaos, or 2) a rebellion. Rebellions must be role played and must have a majority of the kingdom against the king/queen to be considered successful.
Q: Are the king and queen mates?
A: The King and Queen do NOT have to be each other's mates. They can have relationships with anyone in the kingdom that they choose. Also, if your 'mate' is the Queen or King, that doesn't necessarily mean you'll be treated favorably.
crystals
Q: How do you earn crystals?
A: Crystals can be earned in several ways: winning fights/spars, winning steals, activity, and random events. Check the Crystal Opportunities board for additional ways to earn crystals.
Q: Can you give crystals to someone else?
A: You can only give crystals from one character to another if the receiving character has negative crystals, and is on the same side.
Q: How many negative crystals can you have?
A: You can only go two crystals (-2) into the negative.
Q: Where can you spend crystals, and what can you spend them on?
A: See the Baazar for a complete list of items for purchase, and descriptions.
prisoners
Q: I was captured by the enemy. How can I get back to my homeland?
A: There are a few ways to gain freedom if you are a prisoner. 1) You can be granted amnesty from the other side. 2) Your King/Queen can offer another in your place (you captor (King/Queen) will have final say on the acceptance or denial of this offer). 3) You can buy your freedom by offering crystals to the other side. 4) You can use Freedom Elixir if you have it... or you may also try to join the other side. The King/Queen will need to accept you
