![]() Diurnal creatures were already tucked into their hollows, safely sleeping and blissfully unaware of the sleeping giant that would all to soon awaken, and while that might not be cause for alarm, there is uneasiness as the night-creatures became wary. They shifted on the dry earth's surface, eyes rolling to white as they prepared, in the way animals do, for the change that they felt was inevitable. It happened in a course of only seconds. As the light of the mango daystar broke over the hills, it burned - far too brightly to spread cheer. Instead, it shone with a blood red, washing the earth in ruby hues as a rumble, louder than a chugging freight train, sounded. The seconds tick by like lifetimes, each falling away as the sound rises loudly enough to frighten all winged creatures into flight. The earth shudders, quaking softly at first, trees swaying to and fro against the bloody sky. And then, the world tore open into great chasms with a violent groan. The canyons formed, wide enough to swallow trees whole, and as the stately giants fell to their demise, the land tore into far more separate kingdoms than simply light and dark. With the shifting of the great Plates, wide expanses of earth crumbled from the Light and Dark lands alike, driving the pieces into the oblivion of ocean, never to be seen above sea-level again. For several minutes, the earth heaved and threw its contents in rolling waves against the crusty surface. It paid no heed to the life that it disrupted, sweeping chaos and death along with it - and none would be untouched. And as quickly as it had begun, the shudders slowed, and stopped - leaving the Kingdoms of Chaos torn and divided. The skies are filled with sobs of the great Goddess, the sound a great torrent of pain and sorrow. They flash with latent lightning and rumble with the last aftershocks of the earthquake and thunder alike, and as the oceanic plates pull and thrust apart in aftershocks, a thorny protrusion rises out of the sea like a great mountain. Chaos lands upon it, her eyes glowing white like a vengeful angel, as her wings spread larger than life around her. Gather your dead, and remember as you heal your lands, that life will never be the same. This is the beginning of the end… our land divided as it has been foretold.

![]() The sky is touched with strange auric jewel-tones, smokelike patterns rolling across the darkness in a brilliant display of the phenomenon known as Aurora Borealis. Perhaps then, it is fitting that the only shape to mar the brilliant display in the sky is the great Goddess herself - but even Chaos is different tonight. Her wings are broader, spread like a mile of shadows, riveting like the ocean surf against the earth. There is a vengeance with every beat, and her body gyrates and tumbles against the air currents - as if the wind was her lover and only confidant. Her mane and tail stream like great patriotic flags behind her, each strand as thick as a ruler, whipping with a furious sound against the breezeless night. Her eyes shine deep and dark as onyx stone, glinting with the cold hardness of diamonds. Bloody tears stream from her eyes, and trail at her nostrils… and upon looking closer, it is possible to pierce through the darkness and make out a strange detailing of thorns and vines crisscrossing her face - in a banded sort of halter. When she descends tonight, it is as if a rip is torn in the canvas of sky. Where once, there were no clouds, lightning strikes - illuminating her body like a great phantom of night. Her eyes roll back in her head, the whites of them glowing against the darkness, as her body shudders in great quakes. There is a sheen of sweat to her skin, though it shimmers in the moonlight, more like glitter than perspiration… and she is a thing of terrifying beauty - larger than life, as a voice strong enough to move mountains flows from her lips. “Hear me - light and dark alike. Life, as you know it - is over. Tonight, I bring you a message and a warning. The strengths of nature are coming, to change this place with the magnifying touch of Mother Nature - and there is nothing that you, or I can do to stop it. Prepare for change - to change, or to die.” And this is the only warning they would get. The earth rumbled at the prophetic words, the sky spinning into a frenzy of color and the winds howling with fervor - and then there was nothing but darkness, and the linger of apocalyptic dreams.
